Hang Over !!!

1. I often came through this words in the football news especially for teams that have a mid-week game in the European level. Recorded a victory in Europe and defeated to lesser team in the league. They called this as European Hang Over!!!
2. Often occur to the team with not enough depth in their squad members (easily said; not to have a backup player which can do job as good as their main player). That is what they said in terms of football. What will they say when in terms of human ??? I don't know and maybe you will be able to tell me...
3. Last week I had a presentation with the company whose sponsoring my research project. The presentation went well enough due the the data presented by me in the presentation. I could say that I overwork myself for the last month.
4. I presented three sets of experimental data supported by two sets of CFD data and guess what, the presentation went on from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. I could not believe it myself; it was too long. I feel like an empty can  after the presentation... emptiness is that all I feel....
5. As been told by my friend, you will not feel the freedom unless you have been warranted your phD... yes it is. At the end of the day, as they said the better you performed the more they will ask... that's what happen... as I have experienced this previously, it is an expected matter to me...
6. Just like how I have been practicing, I went on to list-out the future work that I will need to do just after the presentation. The list went on long enough to fill-up one A4 page. With the intention to reproduce the same working rate as before I told myself "Okay, lets go back and take a rest and continue on the work tomorrow".
7. I keep on saying the same phrase for the next day and also the next day without actually doing any significant work related to my research... Clearly something was wrong somewhere... and on Moday (yesterday) I decided not to go the lab and stay at home the whole day... What kind of hang over this is I don't know but I hope I will be able to recapture my form back...

Trip to Tokyo

" Morioka ??? Mano tompat ea tu... corok ulu mano diam ea umah ko nih...."

Script that usually be heard when talking about my current place of study. "corok" it was, Morioka located far far away from Tokyo. To drive from Morioka to Tokyo, it will take you about 8 hours driving and if in Malaysia it would be like driving from Johor to Kedah, never ever gone through it and will be going to, soon.

1. First Hari Raya after marriage in foreign country. Which do I prefer, abroad or local ? I cannot tell. As for now I think it will be the same all the way. Although less preparation needed when you are abroad, the feeling of Hari Raya is much more enjoyable in Malaysia which I think is a good thing for your emotional and stress relief.
2. And of course at the end it depends on how you spend your Hari Raya. Visiting relatives have been an obligation in my family and maybe most of us. My parent especially my father will be the most excited person when it comes to relatives visit. He will try not to stay at home during the Hari Raya holiday as he try to pay a visit to every single reachable house of our relatives.
3. I myself  have a big family from both my father and mother side. The wide-spread relatives of mine is one thing that my father like us to acknowledge at. I recall that one of my grandmother (cousin of my grandmother) is a college of my wife. She is actually at the same age as me and yet we addressed her as a grandmother.
4. As for my wife, you don't have to go as far as her grandmother. Her herself already having 13 siblings, from one mother. Productive ???, that's my mother in law (MIL). To gathered all the siblings at my MIL's house already require the man to sleep at the outside of the house. With a genetic pattern pass on by their mother, all of my wife sisters have at least four children and the average number of children that all her siblings will have is five. Count it yourself... it already like a "kenduri".
5. All the excitements make Hari Raya worth of what have been spend for its preparation. And all this, you would not be able to find it abroad... be grateful of what we have although it look like something unworthy to be appreciated...
6. To dampen down the sadness during Hari Raya, I will be traveling to Tokyo and join the gathering hosted by Malaysian Embassy. Hopefully it will give some relieve for us may Allah make our journey save and joyful...   

Ads by TV3

The Hari Raya ads by TV3 has become a big issue in Malaysia for the last few days. The involvement of other religion elements (i.e: amitabha flower, flying tricycles and the inverse jawi/arabic script) in the ads claimed to touch sensitivity of the muslim community.

1. I have been made to understand that FINAS is the govern body that responsible to filter all kind of the ads, movies and everything before they goes up on the air. If my understanding is right, I think it is proper to blame FINAS instead of TV3 on the matter.
2. As for the world of celebrity and electronics media, I don't think that they will ever stick to the religious point of view. For example, even it is globally know that the voice of a woman is an "aurat", I don't think they give it a damn on it. I also recall watching an artist said a really really bad things about our prophet wife "Siti Khadijah" in a forum broadcast all over the nation, and guess what, the audience just laugh on the statement.
3. One of the main issues raise up upon the ads by TV3 was that it will get the children confuse on their own religion. I am all behind this as TV3 should be responsible for their action as it may affect their audience. But should our children provided with a proper Islamic education, the confusion should be able to be avoided. As we are arguing should a proper sex education offered to our children, there should not be such argument on the Islamic education.
4. Saying this, we should not only be concern on TV3. In today's world our children will be having much much more information sources instead of TV3; the magazines, newspapers, blog, foreign TV channel, websites, etc. It is absolute crucial for our children to have proper understanding of our religion or they will be end up as people who accepting everything offered to them by the media not because they want to, but because they don't know why they should not to.
5. Back to the issues of TV3, they should make a public apology and be more caution in the future. I don't think that  it is the first time neither the second time. As for FINAS, the background of the inspectors should be widen-up. Involvement of people who can represent the overall community in Malaysia should be gather to prevent any miss-judgment in the future.
6. Let us not to be too ex-stream on any issues because one of the character of a "munafiqin" is when they arguing, they will go beyond the limit. May Allah give us the strength to be always on the right path of His, insyaAllah.

I have introduced gnuplot previously and for those who are interested to create a contour-plot from a 3D data can try to used the following command through gnuplot. The final result of provided command will be the same as previous posted picture  by me on gnuplot.

gnuplot

1. gnuplot is a software with open license available to be downloaded from the web. Just type "gnuplot" on your search engine and you should be able to found it.
2. Solely used to plot a graph from a raw data or other means of input. The graph type covered from simple points plot to interesting 3D plot including contour plot.
3. Very useful for those involved in experimental activities which produce a raw variable data such as velocity, temperature etc to represent the data in graphical mode.
4. As for me, I am using LDV to produce a velocity grid data ussually in x, y and z coordinate. With the available experimental data I am capable to plot the velocity contour and vector with satisfied quality by gnuplot.
5. Shows below the sample of the final result using gnuplot. I will post more information on the command used in gnuplot. Go and give it a try!!!

Hadith 31 August 2010

Long, long, long time ago somebody have made a promise that he think he capable to fulfill. Apparently he has been overestimating himself while doing so. Forgive that man, because he also a human who try to bring out the best out of himself.

The hadith of today was "assodoqatulburhan" which means "a charity is a prove".

1. In this hadith, Rasulullah s.a.w try to tell us that a charity is a prove of someone faith.
2. The charity here should not only be referred to money. Although money could be an easy example to make people understand the meaning of charity, the scope of charity is as starting from money to every single "nikmat" that Allah have gave to us; food, ideas, strength, advices etc.
3. For us to be able to give or share the "nikmat" gifted to us with the others is the prove of our faith. The more you give the stronger your faith is.
4. From now on we could take this as an indication of our faith. Try to self-asses the charity done by us so that we can have an idea on the state of our own faith.
5. May Allah give us the self-consciousness on our faith, insyaAllah.

Hadith on 19 August 2010

I have been missing two consecutive Fajr Jemaah. Considering it to be in the month of Ramadhan, it was a poor statistic. A nap after "sahur" was a really really bad idea. With only two hours slept before the "sahur", the nap seems not to be a nap anymore. Anyway, I will try to keep up posting the hadiths even if I am not there during the session. Here are the hadiths for the last three session.

5th day hadith means "seeking of knowledge is a must for every muslim".

1. This is a very popular hadith that have been applied to us when it comes to learning. Another popular hadith that always joined together with this one is "seek knowledge even to China".
2. Some scholar said that the compulsory knowledge that should be seek by the muslim is the knowledge related to "fardhu ain". While the other category of knowledge which is available to be seek is the "fardhu kifayah".
3. The "fardhu ain" knowledge involves the matters which is related to the "akhirah" such as "fiqh". Every single muslim must have this kind of knowledge to ensure that he will be able to make his decision base on the principles of Islam and to live an Islamic way of life.
4. The "fardhu kifayah" is another category of knowledge that most of us called it as "ilmu dunia". This category of knowledge we do not need to have all of that available. To be a master in one particular field of this knowledge will give us the responsibility to make the decision for our community in the matters related to our expertise. For example, the expertise in law will be the judge for his community, the expertise in building construction will be the one who make decision on building construction plan and so on.
5. So as the "fardhu ain" is a must for everyone of us, we must try to put in our best effort in seeking it. This can be done by many means; being close to "ulama", attending a "taqlim" at our nearest musolla and a lot of other ways.
6.  Let us pray for Allah to help us in obtaining such a knowledge and with the knowledge we will capable of improving our faith and the quality of our "ibadah", insyaAllah...     

6th day hadith means "to be shy is a part of the faith"

1. There are lots of things that could possibly be implemented by this hadith and one of the obvious things is when it come to "aurat". As you can see today, the matter of "aurat" have been taken too easy among the muslim. With the woman and man to be appear half naked for almost every editions of magazines, feels of shame have been slowly degraded from us. As to feel shy is part of our faith, degraded it means degraded our faith. 
2. There are lots of other things that can be said of the hadith, and it will go on unstopped. Among all these the most important is for a us to be shy to our creator, Allah s.w.t. We should be shy to Allah because it was Him who give us our life to begin with.
3. We should be shy when we are using our life not accordingly to Allah guidance, yet Allah has not taken it from us in instant.
4. We should be shy when we are not spending our money wisely base on the guidance of Allah, yet Allah has not stop us from having it.
5. We should be shy when we were to talk something bad because even for our own mouth and tongue we will never be able to move it without the permission from Allah.
6. Be shy to our Creator, Allah and insyaAllah we will become a "mutaqqin".
